Mayor Moore Kicks Off Steamboat Days at Big Four Station Park

At an opening ceremony on Friday October 17th at 11 am, Mayor Moore marked the official opening of the Park as well as the start of STEAMBOAT DAYS 2014.

The park is located in downtown Jeffersonville, IN and marks the Northern Terminus of the Big Four Pedestrian Bridge connecting Louisville and Jeffersonville.  The park includes new sidewalks at its perimeter with additional walks provided at designated entry points to the park’s interior. A large plaza will house a water feature symbolic of the Falls of the Ohio River. The plaza features four illuminated towers ranging from 25 to 50 feet in height, as well as an open-air pavilion, restrooms, seating areas, bike racks, and drinking fountains located throughout the site for public use. The park landscape is fully irrigated and illuminated bollards line the interior walkways to encourage extensive public engagement.
