TEG worked with long-term client Union Hospital to design a campus
that rivals those in most larger urban environments. This master plan and vision incorporated the most recent trends in the delivery of care and the replacement of acute care services. TEG fast-tracked this project, and also created artwork from structural elements in the main lobby.
In 2007, Union engaged the team to perform architecture, engineering,
interior design, and equipment planning on an approximately 492,000
sf addition and renovation. To fast-track the project, the team utilized a multiple bid package approach.
The first floor features emergency services, diagnostic imaging, surgery, pre and post-operation recovery, endoscopy, registration, satellite pharmacy, pre-admissions testing, and a small cafe. The second floor includes an Intensive Care Unit and Telemetry Nursing Unit. The third and fourth floors house medical/surgical units and oncology. Overhead pedestrian walkways connect the addition to the existing hospital, the Professional Office Building to the south, and the Hux Cancer Center to the north.
