TEG Architects Design Prize
TEG Architects recently restructured two long-standing funds at the Ball State University Foundation, establishing a student design prize to promote collaboration between the architectural profession and Ball State University College of Architecture and Planning. TEG recognizes that a high quality and immersive architectural education is critical to enriching careers in the profession.
The TEG Architects Design Prize is established to support Ball State University Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) students in their pursuit of exemplary architectural design investigations that are informed by substantive research and are professionally communicated. The TEG Architects design prize will serve to incentivize excellent student work accomplished in the final semester of the B.Arch program during ARCH 404 Architecture Final Project Studio (6) “Conceptual and design development processes applied to a student initiated and defined architecture design final studio project.” Criteria for this prize include:
- Thoughtful development of exemplary architectural design investigations;
- Demonstrated integration of quality research with design processes;
- Exemplary professional communication abilities (verbal, written, graphic) used in the presentation and discussion of the work;
A portion of the funds will be used to facilitate ARCH 404 student access to architectural practitioners for consultation in the development and communication of their architectural designs, thereby promoting appreciation for the practice of architecture by these students as they become the next generation of professional leaders.
The faculty of the College of Architecture and Planning will administer the TEG Architects Design Prize, addressing the intent of inspiring and immersing students in the joy of practicing architecture.
